Butter Cake

Ingredients
  • 1½ cups of butter, room temperature
  • 2½ cups of granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of all purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon of baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour pans.
  3. In a mixer bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in vanilla.
  6. Mix flour with baking soda and salt. Add the flour mixture alternately with milk, starting with the flour.
  7. Pour into prepared pans.
  8. Bake until toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool 10 minutes in pan.
  10. Loosen sides and remove.
  11. Cool completely before decorating.
