Ingredients
  • 1 pkg. of frozen puff pastry - thawed
  • 1 cup (8 oz) cream cheese - softened
  • ¼ cup icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 5 tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • glaze:
  • ¼ cup (2oz) cream cheese
  • ¾ cup icing sugar
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Pre heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Separate the pastry squares.
  3. Roll each square to a 12x9 inch rectangle.
  4. Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
  5. Beat 1 cup of cream cheese, ¼ cup of icing sugar, egg, vanilla, maple syrup and flour until well blended.
  6. Stir in ½ cup of chopped pecans.
  7. Spread mixture down center of pastries leaving 3 inches of dough on each side.
  8. Make 2 inch long cuts at 1 inch intervals on long side of pastry.
  9. Crisscross strips over the filling.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes at 400*F, turn down oven to 375*F bake for 10 to 15 minutes longer until golden brown.
  11. Remove to racks to cool.
  12. Beat glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over pastries and sprinkle with ¼ - ½ cup of chopped pecans.
