Caryophyllene is the terpene found in black pepper, cloves, cinnamon, hops, basil, rosemary, oregano, ylang-ylang and some strains of cannabis.

Caryophyllene is one of the heavy hitters and is considered one of the Top 5 terpenes. It is found in many cannabis cultivars.

The medicinal benefits of caryophyllene are vast. It is one of the best terpenes for those who experience stress, anxiety and depression. For those who suffer from anxiety going with a cannabis with caryophyllene is the best option for consumption. It has a calming affect and will not create more anxiety, like some terpenes can.

Also something to note is if you want to consume cannabis by smoking but in the past it has given you some anxiety now you are timid about trying it again, select a cannabis with higher amounts of caryophyllene, chances are you will have a much better experience.
