Nutmeg Disrupted is a food & garden web site I started in 2008 to showcase my competition gingerbread houses that are sold for charity. Being a Field Editor for Taste of Home magazine many readers were hoping to see some of the gingerbread builds I was working on. I started with a simple Photobucket page but quickly found it was not the platform that was what I needed. Thus began Nutmeg Disrupted. To date I have raised $10,000 with my builds for charities across Alberta.
Dreaming of Confections
With a passion for confections since I was a teen it was always a dream to have my own confections company. Taking that passion I entered a food competition and placed in the Top 5 in Canada on the Food Network on the show Recipes to Riches. I ran a small Confections business out of the Grande Prairie farmers market until I moved to a café like setting in downtown Grande Prairie. After much success I sold the company I moved to just north of Edmonton in 2013.
Seeing an opportunity to become part of an Artisan Market in the iconic store in early 2018 I decided it was time to get back into the kitchen to create with sugar & chocolate again. I moved into Johnny’s Store in the Spring of 2018 after I decided to open a confections company to share that passion with everyone who loves to treat themselves and those they love. You can find an assortment of Nutmeg Disrupted Confections in our Johnny’s Store location in Namao.
Our online store will open in November.
Thanks for being a part of our journey!
